I am the author of “Nordic Walking: The Complete Guide to Health, Fitness & Fun.” I thank you for including my new book in your list. But I need to clarify two things: 1) What is now thought of as European-style Nordic Walking did indeed originate in Finland, but a similar style fitness walking with poles was developed in the US even earlier; 2) INWA is but one of the organizations whose instructors introduce people to this wonderful form of outdoor recreation and exercise.

IMHO, what differentiates my book from other Nordic Walking books and DVDs is that I am NOT an instructor. I am a journalist and Nordic Walking enthusiast, but I do not subescribe to any one particular variation or promote any particular brand of poles. I attempt to be even-handed and objective.
